Song of the Day #25: I Will Not Forget

Today I was reminded (as I am every Sunday) of what Jesus Christ did for me.

You know, I’ve been going to church all my life, and I’ve been a baptized follower of Christ for most of it, yet I still need to be reminded about the most important thing in my life: The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.

Life on this earth moves fast. It’s very easy to get distracted from what’s important. Today I felt the need to write a song to remind myself once again of what I should never, ever forget.

I Will Not Forget

I will not forget what you’ve given me.
I will not forget what you’ve told me to do.
I will not forget what you’ve given me.
You are part of my life.

I’ll always remember your love for me.
I’ll always remember the joy we have together.
I’ll always remember what you’ve done for me
by becoming part of my life.

Chorus: You have given me a reason to live my life
by giving your life for me.
Now I want to give my life back to you.
Everything I am belongs to you.
Please take what is yours
and make me what you want me to be.

I will not forget all the words you’ve spoken
Words spoken out of wisdom and truth
Now the words I speak are the ones you’ve spoken
I’ve made them part of my life.

I’ll always remember what might have been.
I’ll always remember where I could’ve gone.
Things would have turned out much different
if I hadn’t made you part of my life.

Chorus

I hope your Sunday has been a blessed one!

See you tomorrow!
