Song of the Day #30: Brave

I have many friends.

Some of them are not afraid to ask when they need help. They know that they can’t face the problems of life alone, and they know that if they have a problem, they can call on me or any of their other friends and we’d all come running. But some of my friends are just the opposite. They would fail at fixing their own problems before ever asking for help.

This song was written for a friend who, even though he knew he needed my help and he knew that I would do anything to help him, still tried to go it alone.

Everybody needs somebody.

Brave

You’ve always been a little headstrong,
you like to go it alone.
Working with a team is just not your style.
Now you’re looking at the future,
and you’re not sure what to do.
Looks like rough waters ahead.

Oh… You don’t have to face this alone.
Oh… You don’t have to be…

Chorus: So brave…
I am right here beside you.
So brave…
You are not alone, so you don’t have to be
so brave.

Don’t you remember when I said
I’ll always be here?
You don’t have to go out on your own.
Now you’re wounded and suffering
and you’re all by yourself.
Won’t you please let me in?

Oh… You don’t have to face this alone.
Oh… You don’t have to be…

Chorus

Bridge: I love you more than you can see,
and I always will.
Here I’m standing by your side,
ready to go through it all with you.
I’m ready to show you there’s no need
to be so brave.

Oh… You don’t have to face this alone.
Oh… You don’t have to be…

Chorus

Remember… there’s always strength in numbers.

As always, feel free to share these lyrics with anyone you think might enjoy them!

Tomorrow is the last day of the month, and Song #31! See you then!
