The times, they are a-changin’

It’s been over a year since the last time I posted anything on my blog site. Some might think that that’s kind of sad, and I would agree except…

I have been very, VERY busy.

But still, that’s no excuse. There are many of you who subscribed to this blog back when I was pretty active and consistent in my posts, and you folks don’t follow me in any other way (social media, website, email, etc.). To you I say, “Sorry about that! I have let my blogging slide a bit over the past year and I apologize profusely!”

There… now that I’ve got that out of the way, maybe I should let you in on what I’ve been up to for the past year.

First of all, there are the two new albums that I released earlier this year: Sunday Songs and Time & Place.

As most of you know, I am a vocal musician. I have been writing, producing, recording, and performing acappella music for over 25 years. I started out singing and writing with gospel groups, and as a solo artist I’ve drifted back and forth between Christian and secular subject matter. These two new albums represent both of those aspects of what I do.

Sunday Songs, as the name implies, is a collection of hymns that I grew up singing in church. The album kinda happened by accident, as I just casually recorded these songs for my own enjoyment. We ended up releasing the CD back in January as a fundraiser for my June mission trip to Africa. The CD sold so well that I’m now working on a “Volume 2” to hopefully be released before the end of the year. You can listen to Sunday Songs right now if you like (don’t worry… I’ll wait for you!):

Time & Place is my latest album of original material, much of which was written over the past couple of years. In fact, some of the lyrics were posted here on the blog a couple years ago in a series of posts. Give it a listen as well:

So, as you can hear, a lot has been going on. Unfortunately, I remembered to keep my social media sites and my main website updated, but neglected this blog. This won’t happen again! In fact, I’m in the process of revamping my main website (ericgwin.com) so I can regularly develop fresh content easily. Part of that redesign involves making this blog site my “Latest News” page on the website. The times, they are a-changin’… but we’re gonna roll with the changes together from now on!
